Geoje Day 3 + 4

Dinner was planned earlier so we dropped our laptops back at the hotel room and come back out for dinner. The name of the place called 'The spicy chicken' place, some intepretation done by a fellow colleague.

This is the culprit that caused several stomach upsets the following day, a.k.a. the spicy chicken.





Day 4 was somewhat simple. The workshop/meeting was help at the hotel function room, where project plans, work breakdown structure and possible issues were all revisited. Lunch was not served in the hotel as no one is interested in hotel food. So, someone suggested we try out the Korean Subway sandwich to save time.

Geoje Day 2

Its already day 6 and I am only doing day 2. I must have been busy. :)



Day 2 started around 11am.. skipped breakfast, woke up and did some emails + some work. At around lunch, checked out the Korean beef curry rice at the only restaurant in the hotel, the Morning island.



Arrived at the Samsung Heavy Industry shipyard closed to 130pm, just in time for the scheduled HSES briefing. A requirement before anyone can go on the platform (Piltun-B).



Briefing lasts around 2 hrs or maybe a little sooner. Quickly put onto our PPE, and walk around the shipyard, of course limited to places we can go. The Piltun-B platform is in the background.

Today, someone decided we should check out the barbeque pork in Geoje, which resulted in a few memorable ending.

This are the ones ready to serve. We were also given the vegetable leaves like the ones used with Takabi the day before.

Some kimchi and vegetables were added in for a different kind of feel.

This is the owner, promoting her chillies after we eat them raw and asked for more... drinks, and cried.

Someone decided we should end the night with some Sio Jiu... so.. we continued to a drinking joint.. which is filled with only Samsung guys, we could recognised them as they are all in the blue SHI jacket.

These are the ones we had. No, we did not finish all of these, but I think 3-4 bottles.

Geoje Day 1

The KLIA-Seoul flight took off around 5 mins past midnight last sunday or monday morning technically. over 6 hours spent on sitting on the lousy A330 on KE.. food was disspointing and they don't even give any complimentary pack with some lip balm, etc. luckily I brought the L'occitane given by Malaysian Airlines on my last trip. Arrived at Seoul around 715am local time, and my next flight to Busan was 9am, so I got not much time left to visit the KTF counter for cdma phone rental, considering need to claim my baggage, go thru customs.. check-in at the domestic check-in counter,etc. The flight from Seoul to Busan took away 1 hr 15 mins.. good thing our pick up from Samsung was already waiting... hop onto the nice MPV(with in car dvd entertainment, cold drinks, beers, and chocs) for another 2 hour car ride to.. Geoje.




Checked into Samsung Geoje hotel around 1pm. This is the room/table that I will be working on for the next few days.







Proceed to the Morning Island restaurant for lunch after checking out the room.

This is the soup of the day, which is quite tasty.




This has got nothing to do with kimchi... at least not yet. It's seafood spaghetti.. costs about W$23,000...





Some Malaysian colleagues based in Samsung shipyard came over to fetch us to dinner around 7pm, to a restaurant they claimed has one of the best takabi/takabee.

It can also be served with rice, which consists of white cooked rice, with salmon roe, and .. etc. etc.

Left the place around 9pm to the office to find a fitting PPE for the next day.

Was back to the hotel by 11pm... Zzz...

Xi 'An - Part 3A

After visiting the Terra-Cotta warriors and horses, we decided to visit another underground burial ground(汉阳陵) on the way to the airport.

According to our driver, this is the latest of all burial grounds open to public. Once fully operational, there will be an underground train ride to circle around the area.

We get to walk on these glass to go directly on top for a better view from above.

Xi 'An - Part 3

Spent another 40 minutes sleeping in the car, and finally arrived at the place where all the Terra-Cotta warriors and horse are kept, by the emperror 秦始皇. Had lunch at a tourist restaurant opposite the main entrance.

Inside the area, we finally found a place to sit, after walking for 15 minutes.

The guide brought us into this musuem and explained to us about how, why, who, when and what about the basics.

A few archeologist working on the terra-cotta warriors before the colours fade off, according to the guide, the colours will fade off within three minutes after exposed to normal air we breathe.

Just another pot, something can be found in most chinese musuem, I supposed?

Yes, we are not allowed to touch them, so this is as close as it gets.

3 good hours spent inside the compound of the Terra-Cotta warriors and horses. Well worth the RMB100 and the RMB30 for guide.
