Beijing Day 2

Work is boring.. so took at walk at the surrounding of Shell TongYi..

Zoom in and you'll see its actually a basket ball court...

Its been a long chilly day, so we decided to go for ... steamboat, something that will never cross my mind in M'sia... but this is Beijing and its -6C.

According to a colleague, this is the best authentic Beijing steamboat shop...

This is the sesame paste, for dipping before putting anything into the mouth.

Would be nice to have it outdoor, but its only available in 'Wang Fu Jing' and ....

This is me, waiting for food at 9pm.

A nice drink that costs RMB25...

We opt for additional Gingseng soup in the steamboat... that costs only additional RMB30.. so the soup costs RMB110 in total.

Yes, this is the Ginseng, later cut and thrown into the soup to add RMB30 onto the bill.

We ordered, some long needle-like mushroom, some beef ball, beef slices, mutton slices, dry type toufu, weird looking vege, and another 2

The mutton slices.. they are yummy.

I do not think anyone would resist this type of steamboat but not sure why they are not available back home?

This is the RMB280 steamboat... definitely will return for it on my next winter trip... and not-to-be-missed by anyone visiting Beijing.

The price might be a little steep, but who cares.
