Geoje Week 2 - Last Takabi for the visit

Before leaving Geoje, decided to have Takabi for the last time. So a local colleague brought us to this Takabi restaurant where he claimed serve his favourite takabi. Forgot the name, but it took as a good 20 minutes of walking from the car to this place.

The ingredients thrown in.

Almost ready to be served

The last kimchi, I hoped.

The takabi fried rice or pok.

Geoje Week 2 - King Crab

This ship reminds me of Titanic..

This is the 30m scaffolding that I need to walk thru to get on the platform. Notice the small little plank?

After a tough day of work, its time for the King crab. The serve Snow crab too. Approx. USD29/kg for Snow crab and USD39 for King crab.

This is one of our option.

This is the one that did not escape our eyes.

Some octupus before the crab is served.

Sauce for the crab.

The King crab. Only serve plain, no other style e.g. chilli, black pepper, etc.

Geoje Week 2

Bought another basket of strawberries... for USD10

Saw this cool device at Alvin's apartment. Come standard for all unit, can be used to call, alert guards, check out cctvs, etc.

A view from PA-B platform, can't wait to see what will that look like once completed.

Some tanker docked at SHI shipyard, alongside PA-B

That's me, on the PA-B helipad

One of the days in week two, we decided to check out the Korean style pizza, Mr. Pizza.

Geoje Day 7 - Hakdong Pebble Beach

Hakdong pebble beach, about less 20km away from Gohyeon town, is a beach filled with pebbles instead of sand. Something different. Selected as one of the one hundred beautiful sounds for Korea, made by pebbles rolling in the waves.

This is Hakdong pebble beach, with the Geoje mascot.

This beach is packed during summer, but not winter.

Close-up of the pebbles.

Geoje Day 7 - Haegeumgang

All the way to the south of Geoje island, is the Haegeumgang, the #2 National Scenic site in Korea. Looks like a Korean version of the Great Ocean road.

A shot taken right before sunset.

Towards Haegeumgang

Walking ahead towards the cliff, a light house would make it perfect.

Geoje Day 6

Tried out this Indonesian seafood noodle at the hotel. Turned out to be something unexpected, with scallops, shrimps, etc.

For a weak stomach after a little too many tequila and korean-Indian meal the night before, we decided to nurse it with Ginseng Chicken.

Best part of this restaurant is, its foreigner friendly. Without a single word, our meal of the day comes to us within 10 minutes.

This looks like some chicken liver to us.

The Ginseng chicken..

Ginseng Chicken, stuff with porriage.

Some kinda ginger taste like drink served after Ginseng chicken.

Geoje Day 5

Day 5 started with skipped breakfast, did not hear the alarm went off, so I had some of these super sweet strawberries and some chocolate from the minibar + some from Russia.

Went off for early lunch, about 15-20 minutes from the shipyard. Known to serve delicious soup, some kind of fish soup that is supposed to help something.

This is the soup. Could not find any traces of fish, but was told it is fish soup. Funny thing is, no menu, no one speaks korean, and the korean don't speak a single word of english. So, I hope this is what we came for.

This is some recommended food served by a Oyster restaurant. Every single item on the menu is served with oyster.

Told by the owner of that restaurant, oysters should go with wine, so ordered a bottle of 2006 chardonnay for the night.

These are the people who came for a oyster feast.

Oyster with some sauce. Rated 7 out of 10.

Oyster with some kind of sauce too. Rated 9 out of 10.

This is my main course, Shrimps and Oysters, fried.

Some sauce for the oysters.

Took this shot outside the Morning Island restaurant, wondering why the Terrance Garden restaurant is never open. Maybe it only operates during Spring/summer? High possibility I believe, as I can not make myself stay out there for longer than 30 minutes.

A picture taken from the hotel garden.

This is taken from the hotel too, the Geoje city centre by night.
